Svea Hartle

A Passion for Cinematography

Based in the North East, but born in Germany and raised in Sweden, I have been captivated and fascinated by a variety of films and cinematic storytelling ever since my earliest childhood days.

Having studied Film, Drama, and Media Studies at the universities of Frankfurt and Stockholm and obtaining a First Class Master of Arts Degree, I decided to top up my credentials with a First Class BA Honours Degree in Creative Film and Moving Image at The Northern School of Art in Hartlepool in 2020.

Throughout 2020 and 2021, I have worked as an inhouse videographer and photographer for a North East based construction company, before taking the plunge into freelancing as a camera trainee in the film and TV industry in August 2021.

With a burning passion for all things cinematography, I am a dedicated, enthusiastic, and conscientious individual who is quick to learn and always ready to embrace a challenge to enhance my skills and level of expertise across a variety of productions.

As such, my prime objective is to understand the craft of cinematography from the ground up and to understand all the processes within the camera department, so that I can not only efficiently lighten the workload of all its members, but also learn all the essentials required for me to one day become a Director of Photography myself.

Outside of work, I have a strong passion for film, travelling, and tattoo art.
