It's All So Worth It: I Got A Job In The Industry!

This blog entry is not going to be a long one, even though it is going to be important regardless.

As you will undoubtedly have read from the blog title – or else you would not have clicked on it! – as of today, I’ve finally got a job offer in the industry!

And as you might have guessed: Yes, it is with my current employer Digitalfire! For after my work gig today, I have been offered the following, which I desperately needed to share with my avid readers on my blog:

Upon my graduation, I will be signing a 6-month retainer contract with Digitalfire. As such, I will officially be hired as a trainee for the period of this time and I will be trained in all the processes, workflows, equipment, etc. The aim is to get me trained up to my boss’s standard so that I will be able to oversee an entire project from beginning to end whilst still delivering the quality the company is known for.

Depending on the workload, this contract provides me with paid work for 3-4 days per week on an agreed sum, allowing me to either pursue my own project or to take on additional work all the other days in the week as I see fit. Furthermore, I do get access to all the facilities within and outside the contracted time as long as they are not reserved for any other project. If all goes according to plan and if I earn my money’s worth, I will be taken on permanently as a member of the team, including pay rises, etc.

Sounds neat for a job offer, doesn’t it? And what did yours truly answer to this?

“Of course I’ll come work for you!”

I cannot wait to get started!

Covid-19 Update, Sunday 10 May 2020

Whilst I would have loved to include a copy of a written and signed employment contract to my hand-in for Professional Practice, I had to forfeit this endeavour due to the professional and legal uncertainties that followed the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdown in the UK.

I thus instead provided evidence of a rather informal chat with my current boss about my future employment that went as a precursor to his job offer and added copies of some invoices for work that I had already completed for him in my function as a freelance camera assistant to my hand-in documentation.
